"Customize Your Family Map" :

1) List all family names (first and last, formal or nick) that you wish to have displayed on the map. (You may only want first or last names displayed?)

2) Include all the town names, with corresponding states, where you have lived if you also want those displayed - optional.

3) State the Color Scheme you want: #1, 2, 3 or 4

4) Optional - add notes re which image you want most prominently displayed.

5) Optional - choose your own frame and title color.

NOTE: some first and last names are more common than others, appearing extensively as US placenames, others infrequent, some hardly or not at all. This could have a big impact on your family name map, depending on the commonality of each member's name. Some names are so common that we need to take liberties on how many to display - for aesthetic reasons. We generally focus on populated places first (towns, cities...), then names of summits and lakes. We'll also display other named US features, if necessary, when searching for uncommon names.

We make no claim that the names we display represent ALL features in the US with said name. Again, we occasionally take liberties displaying named features for aesthetics reasons.
